Abstract Submission Guidelines
We invite you to submit an abstract for presentation at the 26th American Peptide Symposium.
Abstract Submission Deadline – ORAL: February 15th, 2019
Abstract Submission Deadline – POSTER: May 15th, 2019
Notification will be sent to lead author by March 20, 2019
Appropriate topics for poster presentation include:
- Peptide Structure and Function
- Peptide Materials and Nanomedicine
- Peptides and Enzymes
- Natural Product Biosynthesis
- Post-Translational Modifications
- Peptide Arrays and Proteomics
- Membrane-Active Peptides
- Synthetic and Non-Natural Peptide Backbones
- Peptide Therapeutics, Vaccines, and Diagnostics
- Computational Design
- Synthetic Methods
Length: The body of the abstract – 250 words, about half a page of text.
Format: Word. PDF only if abstract includes a diagram.
Font: Times New Roman

TYPES OF SUBMISSION
When completing the submission form, you will be given the option of selecting:
POSTER PRESENTATION ONLY
All abstracts for poster only presentation must be submitted by the May 15th, 2019, deadline.
ORAL PRESENTATION ONLY
All abstracts submitted for oral presentation must be submitted by the February 15th, 2019, deadline.
FIRST PREFERENCE ORAL PRESENTATION
All abstracts submitted for first preference oral presentation must be submitted by the February 15th, 2019, deadline.
YOUNG INVESTIGATOR POSTER COMPETITION
In addition to choosing one of the submission options, poster only, oral only, or first preference oral, Young Investigators may elect to enter the Young Investigator’s Poster Competition.
Young Investigators are defined as undergraduates, graduates and post docs. Young Investigators who are chosen to present orally will automatically be entered into the ESCOM Science Foundation Oral Presentation Competition. Three winners will receive cash prizes.

ESCOM Science Foundation, founded by Dr. Bert L. Schram and currently chaired by Mrs. Dr. E.A. Schram, has kindly sponsored three awards to be given to the top three outstanding oral presentations given by young investigators. In addition, the Foundation also sponsors the Dr. Bert L. Schram Young Scientists’ Lunch and Mixer. The American Peptide Society acknowledges this generous contribution, which supports the development and promotion of young aspiring researchers in peptide science.
